Reptile found in dino gut
A NEW species of lizard has been found in the belly of a flying dinosaur.
A team of scientists discovered a Microraptor with the remains of the nearly complete lizard preserved in its stomach.
The animal, found in north east China, is unlike any known from the Cretaceous period – about 120million years ago.
The findings show that it was swallowed whole and head first, meaning that the Microraptor fed in a manner similar to living birds.
