DAN’S HEAD IS CLEAR

JOSH GRIFFIN led a three-quarter line fullhouse as Hull displayed their maddening inconsistency again.

Griffin was among six different try scorers in a first half that finished with the Black and Whites 34-0 ahead, with fellow centre Carlos Tuimavav and wingers Bureta Faraimo and Ratu Naulago touching down.

But Lee Radford’s side then switched off to concede three tries to bottom club Broncos, who produced a spirited second-half display in an already lost cause.

The win cements Hull’s place in the top three and with a Challenge Cup semi-final with Warrington, they are in the race for silverware.

But they mix brilliance with spells of indifference, while London look like a team ready for the break that the cup will provide after a third straight defeat.

The game was effectively over after the opening quarter, with the home side already 28-0 ahead.

A mix-up between Rhys Williams and Kieran Dixon gifted Tuimavave the opening try.

It was then one-way traffic for 15 minutes as Griffin set up Faraimo, Joe Westerman went over and Jake Connor exchanged passes with Sika Manu to score. LEVEL-HEADED Danny McGuire insists Super League survival comes before sentiment ahead of his final game at Headingley.

The Rhinos legend retires at the end of the season and is desperate not to finish with new club Hull KR relegated as they travel to Leeds.

McGuire, 36, said: “I’m an emotional person but I was pretty determined to enjoy this last year and not get too Faraimo returned the favour for Griffin to cross and Naulago intercepted Jay Pitts’ ambitious flick pass and raced 90m to make it 34-0 at the break.

Danny Ward’s side, though, showed spirit to win the second half comprehensively.

Williams knocked Abdull kick back Fleming to score.

Abdull then stepped through a retreating defence and when Sadiq Adebiyi forced his way over just after the hour mark London narrowed the gap to 16 points.

Hull were uneasy enough for Marc Sneyd to slot a 71st-minute drop-goal before Adebiyi crashed over for a further consolation. caught up in that side of things. I’ll put all the emotion aside and do my job. We just have to get out of trouble.”

St Helens stand-off Jonny Lomax insists he was never fooled by Wigan’s form earlier in the season ahead of their derby.

The reigning champions were in ninth place just over a month ago but travel to their rivals on the back a for Jordan Matty of five straight wins. Lomax said: “I spoke to George Williams and he said he wasn’t used to that kind of feeling.

“I said eight games before they’d won the comp and things don’t change that much.”

Castleford and Wakefield’s top-five credentials are at stake, Huddersfield aim to pull further away from the bottom against Catalans and Warrington want revenge against Salford.
