MACAULAY Culkin has mocked Disney’s plans to remake Home Alone.

The actor, 38, who played Kevin McCallister in the hit film, posted a picture of himself eating a takeaway in his pants.

He wrote: “This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like.

“Hey Disney, call me!” Fans were outraged when the company announced the 1990s classic would be “reimagined” for a new audience. And Macaulay joined in the backlash with his jokey update on how his character would look now.

Delighted Twitter users suggested the picture was better than any film reboot could be.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar said: “I would still watch it, though.”

Another fan added: “Can’t see this Kevin escaping burglars, even those as inept as the Wet Bandits. Not without finishing his pizza first anyway.”

HOLLYWOOD has completely run out of ideas.

Cinema is in an endless cycle of reboots and remakes.

Even the classics aren’t safe from movie execs’ greedy mitts.

Disney bosses now want to mess about with one of the most beloved films in history: Home Alone.

Clearly nothing is sacred anymore.

There’s no chance a new version can capture the magic of the original.

But money talks. And spineless studio bosses aren’t willing to take risks on new ideas anymore.

Sadly, the situation isn’t so different in British television.

That’s why we have reboots of Van der Valk, Bergerac and Rumpole Of The Bailey to look forward to in the near future!
