BOLTON and Bury were left hanging by a thread last night.
The 5pm takeover deadline passed with no rescue package in place for either club.
EFL chiefs had given the crisis clubs until close of business to prove they had new owners to finance them – or face expulsion.
Bury suffered a body blow 90 minutes before the deadline when C&N Sporting Risk group, bidding to take over from current owner Steve Dale, pulled out.
