I’ll add Fizz to Brexit battle

- By WILL STONE

BUCKS Fizz singer Jay Aston has revealed she is standing as an MP for the Brexit Party to protect the NHS after her cancer hell.

She vowed to fight for Nigel Farage’s anti-EU party in London’s Labour-held Kensington seat in any upcoming general election.

Jay, 58, who battled mouth cancer last year, said: “Having been what I’ve been through with my cancer it’s the funding that’s missing in the NHS.

“I want to ensure that our wonderful doctors and nurses and our wonderful police force and our military and all the people that we really need are well looked after.”

She found fame alongside Cheryl Baker, Bobby G and Mike Nolan with the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest winner Making Your Mind Up.

She added: “I was happy that we voted to leave and I hope they deliver what 17million people voted for.

“But it is looking tragic at the minute.

“It’s like the worst situation you can imagine.”
