Depressed Tim’s put off his dinner

TIM Healy says EastEnders is so depressing and humourless he’s been put off eating.

The Benidorm cross-dressing star reckons the soap’s gritty and violent plots are getting too much.

Tim, 67, said: “I recently watched EastEnders after many years.

“There were some good acting but I never laughed once.

“I felt so depressed while trying to eat my lamb chop dinner.”

Tim, who also starred in the classic comedy-drama Auf Wiedersehen Pet, recently moaned that the BBC never shows repeats of comedy hits and just fills the schedule with doom and gloom. Fans flocked to praise his tweet about EastEnders that has racked up more than 5,000 likes in less than a day.

Others recommended watching some of Tim’s shows instead. One said: “EastEnders has always been a bit depressing. I much prefer rewatching some Benidorm.”

Another added: “It’s not like watching Auf Wiedersehen is it? Rewatching this again. Love it.”

Some viewers agreed about the rise in grim crime in Albert Square.

One fan moaned: “Surely there has been enough gun plots this year!”

ITV rival Coronation Street has also suffered a backlash against relentless dark storylines about serial killers, teenage grooming and human trafficking.
