DAN EVANS beat Lucas Pouille to set up a US Open third round clash with Roger Federer on the Arthur Ashe court.

The British No.2 raced to a 6-4 6-3 6-7 6-4 win, then joked: “I’d rather not be playing Roger but it’s better than going out to court 12, I guess.”

Jo Konta blew away Russian Margarita Gasparyan 6-1 6-0 in their rain-delayed second-round match.
