Harry: I’m Baying for blood now
HARRY KANE says Tottenham need to build on Saturday’s moraleboosting win over Southampton by seeing off Bayern Munich tomorrow.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team blew a two-goal lead against Olympiakos in the Champions League this month to draw 2-2.
They also failed to win any of their first three games in the Champions League last season, needing a point at Barcelona in the final group stage game to progress before reaching the final.
Kane wants his side to learn from the experience by seeing off the German champions at home.
He said: “As a team it’s important that we try to get a win in the Champions League as early as possible.
“We know how tough it was last year in the group when we did not win for the first few games.
“Especially being at home, we have to take advantage of that.
“It’s going to be a great atmosphere here. It’s a big game for us to perform in and hopefully we can win.”
Bayern drew at Red Bull Leipzig in their first group game but are undefeated in the Bundesliga, winning five of their six games, including their last three.
Spurs have won only three of their nine games in all competitions so far and had to play for an hour against Southampton with 10 men after Serge Aurier was sent off.
But Kane said: “That’s football. You can’t control that. We have a big enough squad to handle it.
“We are used to that schedule, playing tough games and having to play again in the Champions League or in cup games.
“Whoever the manager picks on Tuesday night, I am sure they’ll be ready.” Agenda benders:
