AN I’m A Celebrity theme park will open next year – in rainy Manchester.

ITV last night announced it is recreating the show’s steamy Aussie jungle environment for a “multi-sensory adrenaline adventure” – indoors.

Visitors to the I’m A Celebrity… Jungle Challenge will get to take on an “immersive” 90-minute “action-packed challenge”.

The attraction in Salford will include replicas of Base Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock plus zipwires, mazes, climbing walls and parachute-style drops.

Guests won’t have to eat testicles or bugs as part of the experience, although Bushtucker may be on sale.

They are also unlikely to face creepy-crawlies – or show hosts Ant and Dec – in the trials, but they will get the chance to be crowned king or queen of the jungle just like Harry Redknapp. William van Rest, ITV’s director of games, live and merchandising, said: “We’re trying to create a jungle as closely as we can. “Some of the games within I’m A Celebrity are things such as treetop challenges, and one of the team who helps create games for the show is helping us with this.”

It is part of ITV’s plan to cash in on hit shows by creating “experiences” based on them. The I’m A Celeb park will be part of a £26million development next to the Lowry Outlet Mall in Greater Manchester.

JASON Donovan proved he is still a good neighbour when he tackled a blaze across the road from his home.

Firefighters who arrived at the London scene were surprised to see the former Neighbours actor putting out the fire using an extinguisher. ★

But other celebs have also come to the rescue in real life – and here NATASHA WYNARCZYK looks at their heroic antics…

TWO years ago Tom Hardy

captured a moped thief in southwest London. Witnesses said the Mad Max: Fury Road actor sprinted through gardens and a building site before he grabbed the thief.

Benedict Cumberbatch

helped fend off four muggers who were attacking a Deliveroo driver last year. The Sherlock actor – who was later branded “brave and selfless” – pulled the men off their victim and defended himself until the attackers fled.

Kate Winslet was staying at Sir Richard Branson’s Caribbean home in 2011 when lightning struck and set the place on fire. Luckily, everyone was unharmed, including Branson’s 90-year-old mum Eve, whom the Titanic star helped out of the house to safety.

In 2009, late singer Amy Winehouse saved a woman from drowning in St Lucia. After Brit Louise Williams was thrown from her boat and hit a rock, Winehouse ran over and stopped her being swept away by the tide. When the star of Mission: Impossible, Tom Cruise, saw a hit-and-run on a woman in LA in 2014, he called for an ambulance and paid her £5,500 medical bill. Actor Jamie Foxx dragged a man out of pickup truck that had crashed and caught fire in front of his California home in 2016.

Long-time pals and acting legends Meryl Streep and Cher stopped a woman from being assaulted in New York last year. The pair saw a man ripping her clothes off, so chased him away and then helped the victim.
