Bobby is a real dazzler

- ■ by CHRIS McKENNA

MO SALAH and Sadio Mane could both hit half centuries for Liverpool today – but they wouldn’t have been able to do it without Roberto Firmino.

The Reds take on Leicester at Anfield as Salah looks to notch his 50th goal at the famous ground, while Mane is just one shy of that total for the club in the Premier League.

It is even more impressive because they both play wide in Liverpool’s three-pronged attack.

Mane netted one and Salah bagged a brace in Wednesday’s 4-3 win over Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League.

But it is the man in the middle who is the glue which sticks it all together according to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

He said: “The goals we scored on Wednesday, pretty much all of them would not have happened without Bobby.

“The relationship is really important. Nobody in modern football can do that alone.

“Sometimes it looks like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo can but it is more and more difficult.”

Klopp will make a late decision on whether or not goalkeeper Alisson starts today, after his return to fitness following a calf injury picked up in the opening weekend win over Norwich.

Another Liverpool keeper, Loris Karius, has not ruled out a return to the Premier League.

He is on loan at Turkish outfit Besiktas but said: “I have a loan until the end of the season and then I see, back to Liverpool or somewhere else in England, or in Germany, you never know.”

LIVERPOOL have been charged by UEFA after spectators entered the pitch during the win over Red Bull Salzburg at Anfield.

Supporters of the Austrian club were also charged with throwing objects.
