She’s no belief in herself

-

I WISH my girlfriend would have more self-confidence.

She’s really bright but allows others to walk all over her.

I keep telling her to ask for a pay rise, but she doesn’t think she’s worth it.

She’s scared that she’ll be “found out”.

But she’s the most creative person I know and I hate it when she puts herself down.

I’ve met several of her colleagues who are totally full of themselves, but utterly vacant when it comes to hard graft and ideas.

JANE SAYS: Young people I know have been helped by assertiveness courses.

Confidence building activities like singing, volunteering and dancing have their worth too.

Maybe she needs to be taken out of her comfort zone?

Life is short, so why shouldn’t she be appreciated and shine?

Tell her she has to start believing in herself because no-one else will give her a leg up.

Even if she doesn’t feel super confident she can still fake it.

I suspect that several of her cocky colleagues are just putting on an act.
