CALUM CHAMBERS says serial winner David Luiz is already becoming a leader at Arsenal.

The Brazilian scored his first goal for the club after an £8m summer move from Chelsea to help his side go third with a win over Bournemouth.

Luiz, 32, was snubbed in a player vote for a five-man leadership group which saw Granit Xhaka given the captaincy but Chambers insists he is proving his worth on and off the pitch.

He said: “David has been brilliant, he has come in and no-one in the club has a bad word to say about him.

“He is one of the nicest guys I have met, he talks to you, gives you advice and makes everyone feel like he is giving you his undivided attention.

“Off the pitch, he is a great guy and on the pitch he brings his qualities and is playing well at the moment.” MO SALAH escaped serious injury and is expected to be fit to face Manchester United following the international break.

The Liverpool star had scans on an ankle injury sustained against Leicester on Luiz has won 17 major club honours including the Premier League and Champions League, as well as the Confederations Cup with Brazil.

Right-back Chambers, 24, added: “He brings some added experience. He was won things and I haven’t won as many, so there are things I can learn from him both on and off the pitch. It is always good to have experience like that in the team.”

Arsenal’s unbeaten home start has helped them climb within a point of Manchester City and Chambers says the Emirates is becoming a fortress.

He said: “We were saying we want to turn it into a fortress for us.

“We did that against Bournemouth, we kept that run going by grinding out a 1-0 win.

“Is there more to come from us? Yes. We’ve got a really strong squad.” Saturday. Salah was caught on the Achilles by a lunge from Hamza Choudhury.

But he suffered only damage to his ankle as he fell awkwardly in a challenge branded “dangerous” by boss Jurgen Klopp.

Checks revealed minor ligament damage and should be fit to face United.

Salah had been left out of Egypt’s squad for the friendly with Botswana.
