PAUL CASEY is targeting an Olympic and Ryder Cup double next year.

The 42-year-old tees off at the Italian Open today as he bids to win a place in the European team next September.

But Casey’s first aim is playing for Great Britain in Tokyo in August.

“I’d love to be at the Olympics, that would be really special,” he said. ■

But they paid a heavy price after Dan Biggar and Jonathan Davies both suffered worrying injuries.

Stand-off Biggar will be assessed by an independent doctor after being knocked out in an aerial collision with Liam Williams.

He is set to miss Sunday’s final group game against Uruguay, which will determine whether Wales top their group, and must be a doubt for the knockout stages the following weekend after his second concussion in 11 days.

Centre Davies will have a knee injury examined today after he was hurt creating Adams’ 60th-minute hat-trick try – in a match that saw Wales come from behind and cross the line seven times.

“Dan will have to go through the protocols and we’ll probably get someone in to look at him as well and you never know with knees, so we’ll probably get Jonathan’s assessed,” said Wales coach Warren Gatland.

“We knew Fiji were going to be tough. They’ve got some absolute world-class athletes.

“So from 10-0 down to finish with a bonus-point win I thought showed some great character. We finished really strongly as well.

“Having already experienced playing in that stadium, hopefully that is going to be an advantage for us in the campaign is not blown off course. World Cup chiefs were due to decide overnight whether to pull the plug on England’s match against France.

It would be the first time a game has been abandoned in 32 years of the competition.

If it is, the match will be ruled a 0-0 draw with two points for each team and England would win the group
