DOC IN MICHAEL SLUR IS BANNED
AN NHS surgeon has been struck off after telling patients to “assume the George Michael position” for intimate check-ups.
Serban Ioan Gheorghiu, 60, referred to the late singer’s homosexuality before patients got on all fours for rectal examinations.
The Romanian, who worked at Scarborough Hospital, North Yorks, was struck off over his serious misconduct.
He referred to the singer “at least 15 to 20 times”, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service heard.
A nurse said he would “regularly ask patients to adopt the George Michael position in preparation for endoscopies”.
