A DAZZLING display of the Northern Lights shines over a loch.

The stunning green and purple glow is one of the first sightings of the aurora borealis as the nights draw in.

They were spotted over Loch Watten in the remote north-east corner of Scotland.

The display is common in the Arctic but can be seen from Britain if conditions are right.
