A BUS driver died in a crash so violent it ripped the vehicle apart and passengers were thrown through windows.

The smash between two buses and a car also left 15 people injured.

According to witnesses, the impact “shook the ground” in Orpington, south-east London.

Kenneth Matcham, 60, inset, died at the scene yesterday.

A man suspected of causing death by drugdriving was arrested.

A CAR fleeing a hail of bullets mowed down a young girl out trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Six women lifted the motor off the 12-year-old, who was dragged along before getting trapped underneath.

One man in the car appeared to have been shot in the face and he stayed with the youngster until relatives arrived despite bleeding heavily.

The girl suffered a fractured skull, three small bleeds on the brain and wounds to her back that may need a skin graft. Children going door-to-door to collect sweets ran screaming as shots rang out in Croxteth,

Liverpool, at about 8pm.

A black Volkswagen Golf came under fire and suddenly reversed in a bid to escape the shooter, but knocked over the St John

Boscoe School pupil.

Neighbours said men ran from the Golf after ploughing into the girl.

The bleeding man who stayed with her was later said to have suffered a non life-threatening facial injury believed to have been caused by a bullet or flying glass.

The girl lives with her grandma a few hundred yards from Sceptre Road where the crash took place.

She had been at a Halloween party at the Croxteth Gems youth club and her family said she was “on the mend.”

Merseyside Police said a Ford Kuga suspected of being involved in the incident had been seized, but no arrests had been made.
