A FATHER Ted star is being hunted by police for failing to appear in court to answer charges relating to a breach of the peace.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gerard McSorley, who played Father Todd Unctious opposite Dermot Morgan’s Ted in A Christmassy Ted.

The actor was due to appear Letterkenny District Court in Donegal after a series of charges.

The 69-year-old from Omagh was originally arrested on November 26 for a public order offence.

While in custody he allegedly spat all over his cell, resulting in it having to be cleaned. Judge Paul Kelly issued the arrest warrant after McSorley failed to attend the hearing.

There was also no legal representation in Co present for McSorley, who’s had previous warrants issued against him.

Back in 2016, he was on the run from police after a warrant was issued for criminal damage to two flower pots outside a bank in a small village in Co Donegal. He was forced to pay £34 when he was finally brought to justice.
