HE’S ADAM FINE PLAYER

Nuno rewarded for faith in Traore

WOLVES boss Nuno Espirito Santo says he never gives up on players and the stunning transformation of Adama Traore shows why.

The 23-year-old struggled last season after a club record £18m move from Middlesbrough in August 2018, starting just eight league games and scoring once.

But the former Barcelona youngster has been a sensation this season, weighing in with three goals and nine assists.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game at Brighton, Nuno said: “We don’t give up on players ever – we try to improve them. That is the growing and the natural process.

“Some players take longer and some players can express themselves sooner in the team. You need patience, which is the best way to improve them.

“If he doesn’t give you a fantastic answer or fantastic performance in one game or during a period, you cannot give up.

“Let’s try to figure out what is going on and what can I do to make him better and transform him into a good player to be a solution for us.

“That is why we never abandon a player, not even in one training session. It has to be this way.

“But there is still a lot of things for Adama to do to improve. It is a never ending process because the game is so dynamic.

“You can be doing one thing now which is working out but you have to be prepared for what is coming up next because suddenly you can do the same thing and it may not work out.”

Wolves are looking to stretch their unbeaten top-flight run to 11 games but Nuno wants to strengthen his squad in January. “It is about anticipating what you need. It is clear we need players,” he said.
