PLAYING in a brass band can help relieve stress and improve mental health, a study by Sheffield University scientists revealed. ★

DANCING On Ice’s first ever same-sex couple are struggling to get to grips with the dangerous lifts because their nether regions keep “getting in the way”.

Ian “H” Watkins, from pop group Steps, is skating with American pro Matt Evers.

But the duo admitted that some of the more intimate tricks are a little awkward for men.

Matt said: “There are some anatomical differences and one of the lifts may not be possible with two men.”

Dancing On Ice returns to ITV in the new year with John Barrowman stepping in to replace veteran judge Jason Gardiner.

Other stars in the show include Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Michael Barrymore and model Caprice.

HOLLY Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have hit back at rumours of a deep rift.

Phillip said that his co-host feels like a “sister” to him. Holly choked back tears as Phil brushed off claims their relationship is “strained” with the pair making their first appearance since feud rumours surfaced over the weekend.

Phillip, 57, talked about the pair’s close bond that has developed in the 10 years they have fronted ITV’s This Morning show.

At the launch of the new series of Dancing

On Ice, Phillip said:

“What’s lovely for me is that I didn’t have a sister.

“I’ve always said: ‘If I could have had a sister,

Holly would be my sister.’ Holly is the sort of person you can go to and you can ask advice. Go in, shut the door. It’s nice.

“It’s a two-hour show, soon to be two-and-ahalf hour show.

“We think at the same speed, we work very well together.”

Choking back tears,

Holly, 38, said they were both “very lucky” to share a tight bond.

She said: “Right from the get-go. It was on this show we first met properly for the first time.

“So it all started ringside for us. Phil is a very close friend of mine.

“He has been a mentor and a friend.”

And Holly even pledged to “look after” her colleague when they are still presenting telly together as pensioners.
