Spin-off lacks the X Factor
SIMON Cowell’s latest version of X Factor was humiliated in the ratings by a politics show.
His singing spin-off was beaten by a BBC election special on Monday night.
Bosses at ITV hoped it would be a hit for Simon.
But The X Factor: The Band’s launch night was watched by only 2.2m.
Question Time pulled in 300,000 more.
A TV insider said: “It was one of ITV’s flagship shows but now it’s getting little more than two million viewers.
“The election special didn’t have Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn, but still proved more popular.”
An X Factor source said the show proved more popular with younger viewers, peaking at 2.8m.
