STOKE 3 LUTON 0

- by JOHN WRAGG

JOE ALLEN moved Stoke to within three points of safety on a massive night for new boss Michael O’Neill.

The former Liverpool man scored twice and James McClean was also on target against a lax Luton who were rarely in the game.

McClean opened the scoring in the 35th minute before Allen headed in the second from the Ireland man’s cross two minutes into first-half added time.

Luton continually gave the ball away and when sub Glen Rea did it again Allen was in there to drive home his second in the 50th minute.

It means Luton have now shipped a staggering 20 goals in their last six away games.
