‘GRETA NEEDS TO CHILL AND SEE A MOVIE’
Trump taunts activist
DONALD Trump has told Greta Thunberg to “chill and go to a movie”.
The President took to Twitter yesterday to mock the 16-year-old environmental activist after she was named Time magazine’s Person of the Year.
“So ridiculous,” Trump said. “Greta must work on her anger management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend.
“Chill Greta, Chill.”
The US leader was responding to a tweet congratulating Thunberg by Northern Irish actor Roma Downey.
The President’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr also blasted the magazine’s decision.
He said: “Time leaves out the Hong Kong protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick. How dare you?”
Thunberg immediately hit back, updating her Twitter bio: “A teenager working on her anger management problem.
“Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”
Trump was also on the shortlist for the Time magazine title but he failed to reclaim the prize which he won in 2016.
Thunberg has long been a target of the US President, who has called climate change a “hoax”.
In September, after she had made an emotional speech at the UN, he mocked the Swedish teenager, tweeting that she “seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future”.
When named Time’s 2019 Person of the Year, the magazine said Thunberg was given the honour after she “began a global movement by skipping school”.
