THE seasons of the Peak District are captured in these striking pictures.

MICROSOFT has unveiled latest Xbox in the battle of video game consoles.

The new Xbox Series X is designed to go toe to toe with Sony’s upcoming PlayStatio­n 5 in shops next Christmas.

Tech bosses promised it would “set a new bar for performanc­e, speed and compatibil­ity”.

Xbox was king of the consoles has lost its crown in recent years to PlayStatio­n 4, which enjoyed massive sales.

Now Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, has promised a more “immersive” experience for gamers.

He said: “We see a future where you’re instantly absorbed in your games – where worlds are even more lifelike, immersive, responsive and surprising – and where you are at the centre of your experience.”

And he promised a slew of exciting games – led by sci-fi its the but shooter Halo – when released next winter.

Phil added: “Game creators around the globe are already hard at work building content for Xbox Series X.

“And our 15 Xbox Game Studios are developing the largest and most creatively diverse line-up of exclusive games.” The new machine is promising frames-per-second graphics 8K detail.

Phil said: “Games today deliver amazing visuals and tell an array of different stories.
