CHRISTMAS has come early for Jane McDonald this year.

The singer won an army of new young fans and it was all a happy accident.

Jane became the surprise star of this year’s I’m Celebrity – and she wasn’t even in the jungle.

DJ Adele Roberts took in her photo as a luxury item and it became a major talking point not only around the Aussie camp fire but also back at home.

Jane explained: “Oh my goodness, I’d never met Adele and yet she takes in my picture and then I’m being talked about by Greg James on Radio

AOne! I mean I can’t even get on Radio Two!

“It seems I have a following now and so chuffed.”

However, while her photo took pride of place in the jungle, she won’t be bedding down with the creepy-crawlies herself next year.

She laughed: couldn’t do hairdryer.”

Jane is also too busy to lark about in the Bush.

She’s just filmed three Channel 5 Christmas specials – Cruising At Christmas With Jane McDonald in Norway (going out on Christmas Eve) and two new I’m

“No way. I without my editions of Jane & Friends with celebrity guests such as Lee Ryan, Aled Jones and Chesney Hawkes (one airing tomorrow and the other on New Year’s Eve).

Next year, she is giving herself a very special present – time off.

She said: “I don’t think I’ve had a proper break for four and a half years so I’m taking time out and want to start writing more of my own songs.”

Jane hopes her festive shows on Channel 5 will bring some much needed cheer.

She added: “It’s been a bit of a gloomy year, hasn’t it? It’s my job to bring a smile to their faces.”
