CORRIE widower Daniel Osborne is set for more heartache.

His one-year-old son Bertie gets measles and comes into contact with pregnant Maria Connor – causing her to have a miscarriage.

Soap bosses have worked closely with NHS professionals on the shock storyline.

Viewers will see Daniel (Rob Mallard, inset), make a fatal error of judgment over Bertie’s vaccinations. After the boy cried in pain following his first jab, he decided not to put him through the ordeal again so he misses out on the follow-up.

As a result Bertie falls ill and gets measles. However, the lad came into contact with Maria (Samia Longchambon) and she develops flu-like symptoms and loses the baby. Doctors later reveal it is because of Bertie. Samia says: “She’s very upset with Daniel.” Rob adds: “Daniel feels guilt.”

TOP Gear’s stars have thrown down the gauntlet to The Grand Tour hosts ahead of the new series opener on Sunday on BBC Two.

After doing a 500ft bungee jump, above, in a Rover Metro Cabriolet off a dam, Freddie Flintoff said: “I’d like to see Jeremy Clarkson do this!”

HARRY Potter famously studied his art at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

So it’s no surprise Daniel Radcliffe is a huge supporter of the academic quiz show Open University.

However, he thinks contestants on intellectual game shows aren’t rewarded for their brains.

He said: “The harder the quiz show in the UK, the less prize money you win.

“Whereas coming third on say Wheel of Fortune wins you a grand.

“It’s just crazy.”
