A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after she was run over then dragged into a car in a brutal domestic bust-up.

Witnesses said the victim was seen arguing with a motorist, who was driving beside her very slowly as she walked along.

He shouted at her to get into the car as she screamed. Suddenly, the motorist drove into her and knocked her off her feet.

The man then dragged her inside the car and drove off.

She was later taken from a nearby address to hospital, where she remained last night. Police are investigating the incident outside the Harvest Home pub in Waddon, near Croydon, south London.

Pub landlord Dave Wightwick said: “A local resident saw the car driving very, very slowly and the woman walking alongside it, arguing with the male driver.

“He shouted, ‘Get into the car,’ and she was screaming and shouting.

“All of a sudden, he deliberately swerved off the straight and narrow and hit the woman hard enough to knock her clean off her feet.”

He added: “She landed on her head with a whack. The guy picked her up and threw her as hard as he could into the front seat and sped off at about 70mph.

“It’s terrible, absolutely shocking. The guy is an absolute lunatic.”

Last night, the woman was “unconscious” in St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the woman was in a potentially life-changing condition.

He added: “Enquiries continue. No arrests have been made.’’
