UK steel is saved

BRITISH Steel was last night sold to a Chinese firm – saving 3,200 jobs.

Jingye Group has vowed to modernise operations in Teesside and Scunthorpe with a £1.2billion cash pledge.

But unions fear 500 jobs could still be at risk, and they are calling for long-term Government support.
