Prison for pirate

A MOVIE pirate behind an international computer hacking ring that cost Hollywood producers an estimated £212million has been jailed.

Luqman Farooq, 31, of Halifax, West Yorks, was part of a network that illegally copied 25,000 files holding unreleased films such as Fast & Furious 7 and X-men: Days Of Future Past. He admitted conspiracy to defraud and was jailed for 27 months at Southwark Crown Court.

AMAZON has been accused of promoting hate crime by selling T-shirts with the slogan “Let’s Make Down Syndrome Extinct” on them.

Rachel Mewes and Caroline Wylde, who have two-year-olds with the genetic disorder, said the tactless garments “dehumanise” their children.

Caroline was in tears after seeing it and alerted Rachel, founder of Three 21, which supports children with the condition.

After Rachel urged Amazon to stop selling them, they appeared to remove the T-shirts from their website last week.

But a version was on the site yesterday.

Caroline, 36, said: “To see Amazon do that, especially with Down’s Syndrome Day coming up, it’s like it was on purpose.

“It has brought so much hurt. If we had put that up about an entire race, it would be classed as racism and hate speech,” added Caroline, from Chester.

Rachel, from New Hartley, Northumberland, added: “It’s very ignorant and shows a lack of tolerance, inclusion and acceptance.”

Amazon has refused to comment on the matter. still available
