Road safety drunk
A POLICE road safety volunteer was caught drinkdriving when doing 20mph in a 60mph zone.
A woman travelling behind Kenneth Higgs, 72, saw him continually braking and speeding up in Seghill, Northumberland, on October 11 last year.
When he pulled over, she challenged him about being drunk and he shouted: “I work for an authority which tackles speeding motorists.”
Higgs, of Seghill, was banned from driving for 12 months ordered to pay a £262 fine, £85 costs and a £32 surcharge at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court.
