Ant & Dec take Piers
TOUCHY Piers Morgan has gone to war with Ant and Dec after the Geordie duo mocked him during a TV sketch.
Piers, 54, hit out at the hilarious scene on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend.
As part of their Men In Brown sketch, they are trying to track down a mystery TV host using a series of clues.
The pair took a dig at Piers in retaliation for the outspoken journalist often taking aim at them. Ant was told: “I actually saw the host at the National
Television Awards.”
He quipped: “Really? So it’s a popular television personality… that rules out
Piers Morgan.”
Ant was then told: “It’s someone that doesn’t suffer irritating fools gladly,” and he added:
“Hmm, that also rules out
Susanna Reid.”
The clip was shown on
Good Morning Britain yesterday, leading to
Susanna breaking down in hysterics.
But loudmouth Piers failed to see the funny side, blasting the pair as “disrespectful”. Piers said: “The disrespect… we’re one big happy ITV family, aren’t we?”
While former newspaper editor Piers was left unimpressed with the sketch, viewers appeared to love it.
One Ant and Dec fan said: “Men in Brown is hilarious,” while another added: “Crying with laughter at Men in Brown.”
Piers, who has had a mostly tongue-in-cheek feud with Ant and Dec, refuses to attend the National Television Awards because the pair always win the best presenter gong.
