Fed hot property

CSKA MOSCOW hope to spark a bidding war for Crystal Palace target Fedor Chalov.

The Eagles failed with a £14m offer for the Russia striker, 21, last summer but are still interested in him.

CSKA, though, are preparing to offer him to other clubs and Brighton, West Ham and Chelsea have all enquired about the £25m-rated centreforward over the last year.

His return of six goals and six assists in 31 games this season has seen interest wane but CSKA believe it will not put bidders off.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson wants more firepower to strengthen his wafer-thin squad but it is Selhurst Park sporting director Dougie Freedman who is driving the club’s interest in Chalov.
