OASIS frontman Liam Gallagher says he wants the band to get back together when the coronavirus crisis ends. The 47-year-old tweeted: “Once this is put to bed we need to get oasis back for a 1 of gig rite for charity c’mon Noel we can then go back to our amazing solo careers.”

TWEETS promoting fake treatments for the virus will be removed.

Twitter said: “We will enforce this in close coordination with trusted partners, including public health authorities and governments.”

The move follows an announcement from Facebook, Google, Linkedin, Microsoft, Reddit and Youtube in which they committed to work together and with governments over the Covid-19 crisis.

A PUB has started offering customers a free pint if they take in toilet roll, hand soap or rubber gloves after it was on the brink of shutting because it nearly ran out of supplies. The Jolly Roger in Gosport, Hants, has been hit by the effects of shoppers stockpiling.

DAME Vera Lynn urged the nation to “keep smiling and keep singing” through the Covid-19 outbreak as she celebrates her 103rd birthday today.

The national treasure wants the country to pull together like it did in the Blitz, and has launched a new video for her classic hit We’ll Meet Again.

Rallying the nation, the original Forces Sweetheart said: “We are facing a very challenging time at the moment, and I know many people are worried about the future.

“I’m greatly encouraged that despite these struggles we have seen people joining together.

“They are supporting one another, reaching into the homes of their neighbours by offering assistance to the elderly and sending messages of support and singing into the streets.

“Music is so good for the soul, and during these hard times we must all help each other to find moments of joy. Keep smiling and keep singing.”

Recorded in 1939, We’ll Meet Again was the soundtrack to the toughest years of World War Two.

But the lyrics ring as true today as they did more than 80 years ago, with many forced into self-isolation or social distancing by the virus.

The new video has archive footage of Dame

Vera performing the song and a voiceover recorded at her home this week.

Rebecca Allen, of Universal’s London-based Decca Records, said: “Dame Vera hopes this will remind the nation that even though we are apart in person, we can be together in spirit. She has always had the unfailing ability to keep spirits up during difficult times.” Dame Vera became the oldest living singer to land a UK No1 album 10 years ago while at the age of 92.

She is the only recording artist in the world to have spanned the pop charts from the 1940s to the 21st century.
