Perfect for a happy snap
HUAWEI deserves a high five for its new smartphone.
The latest P40 Pro+ now offers photography fans five fabulous rear lenses for the ultimate family snaps. Along with the usual portrait shots and wide-angle images, there’s the option to use its zippy super zoom, which can get up close and personal to whatever you fancy shooting.
In fact, there’s a 10X optical and 100X digital zoom giving the P40 Pro+ the edge over its rivals. Clever image stabilisation will also make your videos look like they’ve been shot by a pro and a new night mode allows you to take photos in total darkness without needing a flash. Huawei is also using clever AI to help the camera pick the perfect settings so every shot should be good enough to hang in a gallery.
Other features coming to the P40 Pro+ include a stunning 6.58-inch curved screen, huge battery, improved embedded fingerprint scanner and a stunning ceramic finish which takes four days to make.
Under the hood, there’s Huawei’s latest Kirin 990 chipset which, along with being more powerful, also brings 5G data speeds to the P-series for the first time. That means you’ll be able to access blisteringly fast downloads when away from your fixed-line broadband.
Before you get too excited by this new Chinese import, it’s worth noting it doesn’t have any Google apps – including the Play Store.
Instead, Huawei has launched its own app marketplace, the Appgallery, but it’s lacking some of the big games and services – even Facebook and Whatsapp are absent.
If that hasn’t put you off, then the P40 Pro+ goes on sale in June and costs more than £1,200. It’s joined by a cheaper P40 Pro (£899.99) and entry-level P40 (£699.99) both of which are available from April 7.
