RAF base ‘blitzed by aliens’

ALIENS “buzzed” a UK military base in the 1980s, according to a US colonel who was there when the mystery happened.
Charles Halt, then deputy commander at Suffolk’s RAF Bentwaters, saw a craft fire a “beam of light” just feet from him and his team as they investigated an alleged UFO landing site in nearby Rendlesham Forest.
He declared: “I’m convinced we are not alone. What we experienced was not man-made and was from somewhere else or another dimension.”
Col Halt, 81, spoke out after a book by British author Nick Redfern claimed the incident – dubbed the UK’S Roswell – was in fact part of a mind-bending experiment on soldiers.
Unidentified craft were spotted above the base on three nights but Redfern’s The Rendlesham Forest UFO Conspiracy says it was all top-secret research.
He says Porton Down scientists used drugs and holograms to create images of spaceships to see if they could manipulate troops’ brains.
In the book, UFO expert Dr Ray Boeche adds US defence scientists told him the event was staged.
Redfern said: “Halt and all the men were completely out of the loop. There is strong evidence that demonstrates the military men in the woods were led to believe they were seeing a UFO landing, and alien activity, when in reality things were very different.”
But Col Halt, the highestranking official to openly speak about alien craft, is convinced it was a visit from extra-terrestrials.
He added: “Keep in mind I’m not a UFO follower as I don’t belong to any such organisation.”
