Racing ‘made my jaw square’

-

DAVID Coulthard has revealed his famous square jaw was caused by clenching his teeth during his motor racing career.

The ex-formula 1 driver said speeding round tracks at up to 200mph had resulted in the shape of his face changing.

Coulthard, 49, said: “The jaw kind of developed through car racing more than when I was in karting.

“I have always clenched my teeth when I drive and I know from having had X-rays of my jaw that my actual tooth line is quite narrow.

“The jaw has been pulled on by the muscles over time. It just goes to show.”

Coulthard, who won 13 Grand Prix races, retired in 2008 and now works as a pundit on TV.

He lives in Monaco with wife Karen Minier and their son Dayton, 11.
