TIGER King star Joe Exotic’s nemesis Carole Baskin will finally take over his former zoo following a nine-year legal battle.
The animal rights activist who he tried to have killed will be handed the keys to the GW Exotic Animal Memorial Park in Oklahoma within the next four months.
It is the latest blow to the jailed zookeeper, who insists he was set up and is appealing for US President Donald Trump to release him.
Exotic, 57, who showed off his menagerie in the hit Netflix documentary Tiger King, was caged for 22 years after being convicted of ordering a hitman to murder the Florida animal sanctuary owner.
A federal judge has granted Baskin the rights to ownership of the site as part of a bitter trademark dispute.
She sued Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonadopassage – after he used logos that resembled ones owned by her Big Cat Rescue company in 2011.
He was ordered to pay £800,000 in damages but has lost control of the zoo after fraudulently transferring it to his mother while accused of infringement.
In 2016, Big Cat Rescue sued his mum Shirley Schreibvogel, claiming the fraud was to avoid paying Baskin and other creditors.
District Judge Scott L Palk found the transfer had been made to “remove [the zoo] from the reach of Big Cat Rescue”.
Exotic’s former business partner Jeff Lowe has been given 120 days to vacate the premises and remove all of his animals.
Exotic was last year found guilty of paying a hitman £2,400 to kill Baskin as well as fraud and animal abuse charges. trademark
