Klopp’s a party trooper

JURGEN KLOPP has promised Liverpool fans a title party once it is safe to celebrate in style.

The Reds boss insists his soon-to-be champions will take the Premier League trophy on a parade of the city when cleared to do so.

“If we become champions, we will (celebrate) with all our supporters in the moment we are allowed to do so again,” he said.

“I can promise that if it happens, there will be a parade as well. Whenever. Who cares?”

Klopp also dismissed the argument that Liverpool fans cannot be trusted to follow guidelines about mass gatherings if matches are played at Anfield.

Clubs unanimously rejected using neutral grounds and asked the Premier League to go back to national police lead on football, deputy chief constable Mark Roberts, to look at the issue again.

Merseyside Police chief constable Andy Cooke has guaranteed his force can handle any issues relating to “crime and disorder”.

Clubs are confident that all matches can be played in home venues and a decision could be announced tomorrow.

Klopp added: “If people are saying we cannot play at Anfield because our supporters will go there... Come on, we are all adults.

“We love each other, that is clear. But if (fans not turning up at stadiums) is the only chance we will be able to play games, we will not show up there.

“We want to win it, and not to celebrate now or yesterday or whenever. We want to celebrate together in the moment when it’s possible – and when that’s possible we go again, 100 per cent, with all we have.”

The German also argued that Liverpool fans wouldn’t break the rule because they will have many more trophies to celebrate.

And he said he expects millions to come out to join in when the time is right.

“One million, two million, three million, five million, we’ll be there,” said Klopp.

“But until then, we stick to the rules, do what is appropriate and that’s all, because it’s not the last time we will celebrate together.”
