Si ‘lies’ in Kate sacking
KATE Thornton says Simon Cowell lied then embarrassed and humiliated her when she was sacked from hosting The X Factor – and he never explained why.
The 47-year-old was on the talent show for its first two years until 2006.
Speaking to the In The Pink podcast, Kate said: “They didn’t renew my contract having said that they would. And by they, I mean Simon – you know it’s his show, his gig.
“I’d seen speculation in the press that I was going to get the push and I asked: ‘Is that the case and if so can you please just give me the dignity of resigning? Hopefully our friendship and history would qualify that I mean a little bit more than that.’
“But that didn’t happen. It hurt more that someone I considered to be a friend hadn’t been up front with me. It was embarrassing, it was humiliating and it kind of burnt for a bit.
“If I had been delivering news like that to somebody would I have done it in the same way? One hundred per cent no.”

DWAYNE “The Rock” Johnson has blasted Donald Trump in an explosive speech – fuelling rumours he will run for president.
The Hollywood star slammed Mr Trump’s “lack of compassion”.
And he ripped into his handling of the mass protests over the death of George Floyd. The ex-wrestler, 48, voiced his support for Black
Lives Matter and repeated the phrase
“where are you?”
Johnson said: “I am a man who is frustrated, I’m disappointed,
I’m angry but I’m also doing my best to stay focused and make the best decisions for our country.”
As #Therockforpresident began trending on Twitter, one person tweeted: “Run for president please!”
There was fury as
White House press secretary Kayleigh
Mcenany compared
Mr Trump’s handling of the racism crisis to
Sir Winston Churchill. She claimed a photo opportunity of the president holding a Bible outside a Washington church was like Britain’s war leader surveying bombing damage during the Blitz.
Meanwhile, Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who knelt on Mr Floyd’s neck, faces a tougher charge. He is now accused of second degree murder.
Yesterday thousands of protesters marched in Bristol, Birmingham, Portsmouth and other British towns and cities following Wednesday’s 15,000-strong rally in London.
