KILLED BY BALCONY FALL BRIT
Double tragedy at hotel
A BRITISH holidaymaker has died falling from a hotel balcony – also killing a Spanish man he landed on.
The Brit has been named locally as Anthony Holmes and the other man Antonio Gonzalez.
Mr Holmes, 49, who is believed to have been holidaying with relatives, fell from the seventh floor of the Melia Don Pepe in Marbella at 2am on Saturday.
Dad-of-two Mr Gonzalez, 43, who ran a gym in the Costa del Sol resort, had been enjoying a night out with his wife and pals on the hotel terrace.
One friend said: “He was a lovely bloke who lived a normal life.
“His wife was beside him when it happened.
“I can’t imagine the pain and shock she’s experiencing right now.”
Another added: “What a terrible tragedy.”
Police have refused to say whether the holidaymaker jumped by accident.
A spokesman said: “I can confirm two men have died at a hotel in Marbella after one plunged from the seventh floor and landed on top of another.”
No comment has been made by the hotel. or fell
