Robbo in the clear over rant
ANDY ROBERTSON has escaped an FA charge after his emotional outburst at referee David Coote.
The Liverpool defender issued a foul-mouthed tirade at the official at the end of the 1-1 home draw with Burnley on Saturday.
Robertson was angry after he was refused a penalty despite seeming to be clearly impeded in the box by Clarets star Johann Berg Gudmundsson.
TV cameras caught him delivering a string of expletives as he told Coote: “You didn’t see anything the whole game…what’s the point of having you in the middle?”
But the FA confirmed last night that both Coote and the fourth official’s reports had included no reference to Robertson’s rant.
