Spurs ace brother shot dead

TOTTENHAM defender Serge Aurier’s younger brother was shot dead in France yesterday.

Christophe­r Aurier was attacked outside a nightclub at around 5.15am on Monday.

The 26-year-old, who played for fifth division football team Toulouse Rodeo, was pronounced dead in hospital.

The suspect in the shooting was last night still at large.

Serge, 27, played in Spurs’ 2-1 win over Arsenal only hours earlier.

Tottenham Hotspur said: “The club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of this morning. Everybody at the club sends their sincerest condolence­s to Serge and his family.

“Our thoughts are with them all.”

French news site Le Point reported that a witness heard two shots fired on Boulevard de Thibaud in Toulouse.

Local reports say residents called the police after finding a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

An investigat­ion has been launched to find the suspect, who fled the crime scene.

Christophe­r, who was a citizen of Ivory Coast like Serge, inset, played for Racing Club de Lens, Gueugnon, Chantilly and Belgian club Rebecq.

He had a trial for Championsh­ip team Brentford in 2011.

Right-back Serge started out at Lens, like his brother, before signing for Toulouse. The Ivory Coast internatio­nal transferre­d to Paris Stgermain in 2015 before signing for Spurs two years later.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe, 21, tweeted his support to the Spurs player, writing: “Je suis avec toi (I am with you).”
