GHOSTBUSTERS star Dan Aykroyd has become a reallife paranormal investigator.
The Hollywood actor has always believed in other-worldly beings and is chasing ghost stories in TV show Hotel Paranormal.
Aykroyd, 68, who played Dr Ray Stantz and co-wrote the classic 1984 film, said: “It’s so much fun.
“The incredible encounters we’re highlighting will open up a lot of minds and hopefully break through some of the scepticism people carry about the paranormal.
“Bottom line about all of it, whether you’re a believer or not, it’s entertaining.”
The upcoming Travel Channel show re-enacts real-life spooky encounters that have been captured on video with commentary from paranormal experts.
It will be presented by Aykroyd, who insists the spectres are spawned from “psycho-kinetic energy” just like they Ghostbusters movie.
He said: “That’s the invisible world at work. What’s neat about it is you actually get to see the actual footage in a few of the episodes.”
The first show will feature stories including a travelling salesman who captures poltergeist activity on his phone as well as teenagers who accidentally free an ancient evil.
Ghostbusters followed a team of New York parapsychologists who launch a ghost-hunting business.
It spawned a 1989 sequel as well as a female-led 2006 reboot, and Aykroyd is set to strap on his proton pack again for another instalment.
He and his co-stars Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts will reprise their roles in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, slated for UK release in March 2021. are in the
