GEORGE The Staffy from ITV’S For The Love Of Dogs has finally found a forever home.
The eight-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier – who had been through four unsuccessful rehomings – has now been adopted by a family in Middlesex.
He is happy and well and spends most of his time going for walkies or snoring loudly, said dogs home staff.
Your Daily Star revealed earlier this week how show host Paul O’grady had dubbed George “the unluckiest dog on the block” when he met him.
The pair featured on last night’s For The Love Of Dogs where fans discovered how the hound was back at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home for the fourth time.
Staff had handed him over to an animal lover who lived on a houseboat with a cat – but it did not work out. Battersea ambassador O’grady said: “He is so unlucky. It’s sad because he is such an affectionate dog.
“He is the friendliest, waggiest, jolliest Staffy you’d ever want to meet.”
The episode was filmed in March just before lockdown hit the country and Battersea had to close temporarily.
However, staff at the centre have revealed that since then, they are praying for a fifth-time lucky after they managed to find George a new home. A spokeswoman said: “George is settling in well with his new family in Middlesex, where he spends his time going for gentle walks, sunbathing in the garden, or snoring in his bed. “Luckily, it’s quite rare that animals come back to Battersea as many times as George did before finding his forever home.”
