CATTERALL’S TIME NOW

-

JACK CATTERALL has been patient and now it is his turn to get his world title shot.

The classy Chorley light- welterweight

is the WBO mandatory contender for Jose Ramirez.

And we will push for Catterall to get his chance after he worked hard to get himself into position to fight for the title.

He is unbeaten in 25 bouts and, like many, has been waiting to get back in the ring after the coronavirus delays.

Ramirez and his team were quick to shout up an undisputed clash with

Josh Taylor next after his win over Viktor Postol last weekend.

Scottish ace Taylor defends his IBF and WBA belts later this month against Apinun Khongsong at BT Sport studios.

He has been vocal about facing the American who also holds the WBC title at the weight division.

We want Catterall to get his shot at Ramirez first and then we can make an all- British undisputed clash. What an event that would be between two unbeaten fighters from these shores.

Anthony Yarde is back out next week as he looks to make a big impression against Dec Spelman.

The world title challenger was due to face Lyndon Arthur in April but the pandemic put pay to that for a while.

Arthur outpointed Spelman in July and I’m sure Yarde will be keen to stop him to make mak an impression im ahead of the pair potentially facing each other later this year. Meanwhile, Danie Daniel Dubois has moved up to No. 2 in the WBO heavyweight rankings.

Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, is currently the mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua.

But if Joshua vacates ahead of a fight with Tyson Fury, then we are ready to put Dubois in with Usyk.

And I would back my man to beat him on the night.
