Changing faces

-

Linda Barker: Designer Linda had a disaster on Changing Rooms when she made a shelf to hold a contestant’s collection of valuable teapots, only for it to collapse and smash them all. Luckily, her career after the show has been more successful – she finished third on the second series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2002, released her own wallpaper and kitchen range and now writes and publishes design books.

Carol Smillie: Carol went on to host The National Lottery and the Channel 5 show Dream Holiday Homes, and also finished fifth in a special one- off ice version of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 called Strictly Ice Dancing. More recently, she co- created a range of leak- proof knickers for women.

Anna Ryder Richardson:

Anna went on to run her own zoo in Wales called Manor House Wildlife Park, which was the subject of TV shows including Chaos At The Zoo and Anna’s Welsh Zoo. She also appeared in the BBC Sport Relief event Only Fools On Horses and the 2007 series of ITV’S I’m a Celeb where she befriended Christopher Biggins, later winning £ 50,000 with him on a celebrity version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Handy Andy: Talkative Cockney builder Andy Kane, aka “Handy Andy” found fame on Changing Rooms and went on to star in other home- improvement programmes, including the US series Trading Spaces and Increase Your House Price By Ten Grand. More recently, he hosted a number of BBC Primary Geography programmes.

Laurence Llewelyn- Bowen:

Known for his loud shirts on the show, after Changing Rooms ended Laurence went on to judge the 2010 talent show Popstar To Operastar alongside Meat Loaf and Katherine Jenkins. He now makes regular appearances as a designer on DIY SOS: The Big Build and has appeared in adverts for Littlewoods and Victorian Plumbing.

Graham Wynne: Another one of the main designers, Graham hasn’t been seen much since Changing Rooms ended. He was last seen on TV in 2006, when he appeared as himself in a TV movie documentary called Now That’s Embarrassing: The 80s.
