Brighter lookout for men

GREY is the most popular colour of carpet in Britain for women, while guys prefer peacock blue.

But mushroom is hated by both genders.

For women, 15% like grey best, with beach pebble and antique French in second and third place.

Some 12% of men voted for peacock blue in a poll, ahead of antique French and guardsman red.

Johanna Constantinou, of Tapi Carpets & Floors, said: “Lockdowns have forced people outdoors, where they have reconnected with nature.

“This is reflected in the home with a rise in warm, earthy tones and beige.”
