NIGELLA Lawson likes to eat cake for breakfast.

But the telly chef said she does not lather on icing if she is having it so early in the day.

The BBC star, 61, said: “Midweek treat: recipe of the day is my ginger and walnut carrot cake. “It’s not as sweet as the classic doubledecker version – and very good un-iced as well, especially if you have it for breakfast.”
