RECOVERING VARDY’S BACK TO STITCH UP SECOND TITLE

- By DAVE ARMITAGE

GOAL-HUNGRY Jamie Vardy is back and ready to get thrown to the Wolves.

The 34-year-old Golden Boot winner is set to spearhead Leicester’s push for the Premier League title at Molineux tomorrow.

Vardy, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions, has been out after having hernia repair surgery.

And no one is happier to see him back than Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers, who reckons his main man is incomparable.

He said: “He’s had a really good week. He’s been building himself up. He was fantastic in training today.

“He’s absolutely electric for us. There’s no other striker in the league that could give us what he gives us.

“I just love watching him. He’s so singleminded. I just love talking with him and being around him. He’s just a brilliant guy and a brilliant striker.”

Rodgers says he still has to decide whether to start his talismanic star but said: “The most important thing is just having him back.”

Leicester sit just behind the pacesetters in third place but their boss is brushing aside any talk that they have a bigger chance than they are being given credit for.

Rodgers is not bothered in the least that all the talk of who will finish champions surrounds Manchester City and Liverpool.

He said: “It’s only natural, those two are two of the greatest teams to have played in the Premier League. “We do our talking on the field. We will see where we finish up. Let’s see where we finish and talk about it then. “We mustn’t sit back and pat ourselves on the back. Our target is to finish as high as we possibly can. “If that means we finish in the Champions League spots, then great but if we don’t, then we just try again.”
