My Lipa faith in change

DUA FEAR OF DANCE POP SHIFT

- ■ by JOSHUA PECK and JAMES WHALING news@dailystar.co.uk

SHE’S one of the most adored pop stars on the planet but Dua Lipa was scared to release her new single.

We’re Good is a brand new tune that takes the Londoner out of her dance pop comfort zone.

Dua explained: “I think, sonically, it felt the riskiest because I don’t even know what it is.

“It’s like pop with a little bit of a trap beat. It’s got an interesting bossa nova style. And that for me was probably the most scariest.”

It also puts an unusually positive spin on the classic break-up song lyrics.

She agreed: “It’s having that amicable break-up that I think everybody kind of wants.

“It’s like that clean break isn’t lacking, move on. We’re good. You can’t be upset if I move on. I can’t be upset if you move on.”

We’re Good features on a new deluxe edition of her Future Nostlagia LP and is a sign of things to come.

Dua told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “A little bit of the music from the previous record will always trickle into the next one, but in its own way.

So I feel like from my first album, I had a song called Genesis on the record, which had an Eighties kind of nostalgic vibe.

“And so for the next record, I definitely think there’s going to be something, because now I’ve just started the writing process.”

In fact, a follow-up album is well under way: “I’m slowly starting to move away from Future Nostalgia.

“And I feel ready to write again and start something fresh. I’ve already got some ideas.”

New pair up front scupper footie call A FOOTBALL fans’ Zoom meeting was abandoned when a topless stripper appeared on screen.

More than 170 Chester FC supporters logged in for the meeting. But it had to be cut short before manager Anthony Johnson could hold a Q&A when hackers started sharing the porn images.

Johnson was in hysterics while others looked stonyfaced. Chester chairman Andrew Morrison joked that the National League North club could see a “surge of members”. He said: “Sadly there were some people who obviously joined with a different agenda than talking about the challenges of non-league football!

“It’s obviously entirely unsuitable with what we believe as a club, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are sorry if anyone was offended”

The City Fans United group that set up the meeting had made it available to any member of the public. It said: “Apologies to anyone that was offended by the material that suddenly appeared on the meeting, and we removed it as quickly as possible.

“But unfortunately repeated attempts meant we had no alternative but to close the meeting.”
