IRON MAIDEN’S FANS IN PIECES AT JIGSAWS
ROCK icons Iron Maiden are raking it in – by selling jigsaw puzzles.
The British heavy metal band’s 16 designs, released last year, are some of the best-selling in the entertainment field.
They feature cover art and iconic career moments for the Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter group, led by singer Bruce Dickinson, 62.
Maiden signed a deal with Zee Productions to release art from albums and hits including The Trooper,
No Prayer For The Dying and Fear Of The Dark. Most were turned into 500-piece jigsaws, with 1983 hit The Trooper available as a 1,000-piece puzzle. Metalhead Steve Beatty, who came up with the idea, said: “I want to make jigsaws that are for the music fan.
“Vinyl came back and I loved the idea of making great record sleeve art into jigsaws, maybe stick the record on and do together.”
Rock act jigsaws have become a huge business as people look for things to do in lockdown. Uk-based Zee also sell sets featuring The Who, AC/DC, Guns’n’roses, David Bowie, Alice Cooper and Sir Elton John. Steve said his next project is a range of military-themed puzzles.
